My names Chris, I grew up in England and moved to South Africa in 2021 with my partner Tammy, we started with an empty farm and built it up with a few buildings, water and a bit of electric.
I have been playing Dungeons & Dragons for over 10 years, running sessions with an active groups for 5 years. My main group in the UK had several DM’s that rotated, creating a heavy one shot environment.
During Covid when we could no longer meet in person we did several online one shots, but most my attention went to running Tyranny of Dragons with my family (which we completed in 2022).
My DM-ing style is very open world, I don’t enjoy rail roading players, and if they want to go somewhere unexpected I will try to spin an interesting tale in that direction.
I generally follow the rules to give good structure to encounters, but am a firm believer of the rule of cool over rules as written.
Most things are acceptable in my games, as long as they don’t make anyone uncomfortable. I have ran sessions for many people in my time bringing lots of different stories to life.
Outside D&D I am a professional web developer, I also travel a lot and enjoy building up our lives on the farm. I am English speaking though working on my Afrikaans (net biccy afrikaans). I also enjoy Braaiing and experimenting with different techniques, having no microwave or an oven really helps you get the most out a braai!
